Relics 2 [Windows] (mini-review)
Relics 2 Mini-review Ryan J. Buchanan This game has simple graphics, with textures reminiscent of Doom from the 90s. The textbox looks like the default GameMaker text display box. Relics, the point system of the game, accrue too slowly to make scorekeeping worthwhile. It is a fun little experience if you're hoping to kill a few minutes; this makes it an excellent play for your lunch or coffee breaks. However, the game suffers from some fundamental flaws. I will try not to dogpile on it, since it is created by a solo indie dev, whose age I have no clue about. Relics, which feature essentially as the game's point system, accrue far too slowly and in too low a number to be functional as such. Further, the sound-effects, while initially enjoyable, fail to feel fully immersive. The soundscape would greatly benefit from some ambience.
